Holy mackerel. It’s a four day holiday. I’m grabbing the dog, throwing a turkey on the boat and getting the hell out of dodge. Drifting at sea for four days, stringing holiday lights and wondering why I bought a 14′ inflatable Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer for the bow of the boat. I’ll tell you why. It’s for the PYC Christmas boat parade of course. Sorry Thanksgiving, I didn’t mean to rush right past you but I do have a boat parade to get ready for in a couple of weeks and your gonna help me out with those few extra days.
After all, we never received anything more than an honorable mention for our clever Elves & Elvises theme the last time we were in that darn parade. Apparently it’s hard to compete with a live manger scene though, how on earth do you even get that on a boat. Anyway, I’m putting my money on huge inflatables this year which btw can easily substitute as personal flotation devices (that’s right, that means they can stay up year round). How perfect is that.

Someone sugessted that slutty elves might have worked out better for us but that definitely doesn’t compete well with a manger scene. So if the Elves & Elvises boat theme didn’t garner more than an honorable mention we’ll move forward with “Plan B”, Bribe the Judges (everyone does it, we’re the south’s finest after all). Oh…did I mention our new sound system complete with karaoke machine. You think I’m kidding? Don’t miss this years parade then!
Anyway, in between shucking oysters and stringing lights this weekend (and don’t worry I’ll be sure to wait until after Thanksgiving day on the lights for all you party poopers), I’ll be hauling around my perfectly stocked Yeti in search of seashells and dolphins.
Hope you had a fine Thanksgiving! See you in the Blue Ocean friends.
